To change to Viridian as your electric power supplier, click on the green “Become a Customer!” tag at the top right of this Viridian page, and work through the 3-step application process. Have a copy of your CL&P electric bill in front of you – some details from the bill will be required.
Fill in your name, address where electric service is received, choose “Residential” or “Commercial” account, and “Rate Plan,” either “Everyday Green (20%)” which offers 20% of its power from renewable energy sources and costs less than the CL&P Standard Service; or “Pure Green (100%)” which saves you slightly less but gets 100% of its energy from renewable sources.
From your CL&P bill, you will be asked for your:
Account Number (11 digits) – near top of bill
Service Reference Number (9 digits) – under “For Service at: (Your address).”
Customer Name Key (4 characters) – above Account Number. May be letters, numbers or symbols.
Confirm your data and submit. In one or two monthly billing cycles, your CL&P bill will show “Viridian” instead of “Standard Service” under the Supplier Service Detail heading. This, and your lower rate for Generation Service Charge, will confirm that your transfer to Viridian has been completed, and that the Church will begin to receive continuing income whenever you pay your electric bill ($2 per month if you use over 500 KWH monthly, or $.25 each month for those who use less).
