Viridian Difference
The Viridian Difference is the quality of the electricity that we deliver to our customers. Our electricity meets the proposed 2020 federal environmental goal of 20% renewable energy. This means that a much larger portion of our electricity is either backed by Renewable Energy Credits or purchased directly from clean energy sources.
Many states have adopted Renewable Portfolio Standards which require electricity suppliers and utilities to source a minimum amount of their electricity from clean energy sources. Viridian exceeds this requirement in each state we operate in. The benefits of Renewable Portfolio Standards include (Source: US Environmental Protection Agency):

- Increased diversity and security of energy supply;
- Lower natural gas prices;
- Reduced volatility of power prices; and
